Mission:
To help you restore and maintain your optimal level of health the natural, comfortable way.
Injae Choe (born 1969) is a NYC-based licensed massage therapist specializing in the eastern holistic style of acupressure called Sugi (“hand energy”). It is a healing practice and art form that he learned since childhood directly from his father. With a mission of helping people to “restore and maintain their optimal level of health the natural, comfortable way,” Injae sees clients at his midtown Manhattan office as well as on frequent house calls at residences, hotels, clinics and offices. In addition to his qualifications in bodywork, Injae also holds a PhD in psychology (New School for Social Research), MBA in finance (Columbia University) and BA in Chinese and French (UC Berkeley). At Eton (prep school in England), Injae’s concentration was on the natural sciences. For bodywork, Injae received over the years diplomas and certificates from the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA, the Texas Massage Institute in Dallas, TX, and New York College Of Health Professions in Syosset, NY.
Injae’s particular apprenticeship in Sugi acupressure began early in life, literally as soon as he was able to keep his balance while learning to walk on his parents’ backs. In the many years to follow, his father would also train him in various manual acupressure techniques to help improve people’s musculoskeletal structures, as well as to bring relief to a wide spectrum of physical and psychosomatic ailments. Even as he previously pursued a career in the corporate world, Injae always practiced Sugi acupressure on a part-time basis. Before long, Injae’s passion for holistic health eventually motivated him to concentrate on Sugi acupressure as his primary profession.
With his keen sense of service to others and a persistent curiosity in the connection between the mind and the body, Injae is committed to bringing to bear his multicultural and multidisciplinary approach to his healing art, to help clients—of all ages and from all walks of life—to recover from illness and to reclaim their active lives.
